1. POULTRY PROCESSING WORKSHOP – Sunday October 23rd, 2-4 pm at Wiseacres Farm
Join us for this hands-on workshop with John Wise where we’ll learn how to process poultry on farm with simple equipment. As each participant with process one chicken, there will be a small cost to each participant as they will need to pay for the cost of the chicken in order to process it (and then will take it home at the end of the day). Registration is now open for Ontariofresh.ca, the new free website and online community that is being created to expand the market for buyers and sellers of local Ontario food. 7. SWITCH SUSTAINABLE ENERGY AWARDS 2011 – New awards program to include Rural Initiatives Award
SWITCH is pleased to announce the new SWITCH Sustainable Energy Awards. The annual awards will recognize the efforts and successes of individuals, organizations and institutions in southeastern Ontario that contribute to the transition to sustainable energy production and use, and that help to position the region as a leading centre for sustainable energy. Awards will be given in the following categories: Sustainable Energy Innovation Award; Community Leadership Award; Rural Initiatives Award; Urban Initiatives Award and the Kingston Hydro Conservation Award.
